Everything New Again

Thats write, lots of big changes for us over the last couple of months and I have been a very busy little bee. The kids help with that, of course, but Sam is crawling now and is happier to play by himself now so I’ve been busy with other things.

Firstly there was the big house move from Metford to East Maitland. Personally I hate moving but it had to be done and now we are much happier for it. Bigger and nicer house, lots of storage space and a beautiful fenced yard. George now has to get the bus to and from school. This seemed a little scary at first but now it is a big fun adventure! ;-) Peter and i are so please that he is really enjoying school and has such a lovely teacher. We might move him to a close school at the beginning for next year but we are not sure yet.

Sadly due to the move and the fact the I am still without a license ( only 30 more hours to go!) I have had to pull Riven out of Preschool. He has been missing it terribly but the school down the road doesn’t take kids until they are three years old so we have to wait until term 4 for Riven to start. He seems to have adjusted to being home all the time now but occationly asks to go to preschool to see his friends.

Our second bit of news is that Peter has a new job, longer hours, better pay, and best of all something that he is really enjoying. Also it looks very promising that he will get promoted quickly which will be very exciting & give a nice boost to our savings .

Last of all I have been studying at OTEN just to refresh on some of my work skills. Like the Microsoft office programs, my typing skills, and a few other things. Its an interesting change from my writing course which I completed earlier this year with fantastic results. I’m now looking at doing some work from home, so that I can bring some money in without having to abandon the kids.

Life has as always been very busy here. It’s been 4 months since I started this blog and so far I’ve manged to post once a month. As I’m trying to do more writing, of all shapes and kinds, I’m now planning to post at least once a week instead.

This month we have been re-organising the house, cleaning out the shed & ’spring’ cleaning (it’s autumn here) in general.

George has been doing is reading almost every night and brought home a reading award this week. Riven has been busy making beautiful paintings & hand paints at playgroup and Preschool. Sam still isn’t very mobile but is quite a cuddly little bub and loves to have people chat to him. The favourite activity the boys enjoy together is Mummy singing them songs about our family while clapping along.

I am almost finished my writing course, which I have learned alot from, and I am thinking of doing another course later in the year. I’ve also been having quite afew drving lessons and am aiming to have my licence before November but by the years end at latest.

Peter is still working hard for the modern group and has decided that he will also get his licence before the end of the year so that he can gain a promotion.

This week in going to be a busy be taking Riven and Sam to playgroups and outings with friends and then on Sunday I am heading to the Bear Fair with my Parents and sister KJ who is back from Scotland.

And now its back to being Mummy again and getting food on the table for our dinner.

God Bless

Overdue Update

Things have been super busy here at the Laloli household. Geroge of course has been busy with school and seems to be very happy in his new class with Mrs. Radcliff. Riven has Preschool twice a week and is also having lots of fun at playgroup. He is a very energetic boys and loves running around, dancing etc with other kids. So far Samuels excitment for the day consists of cuddles, breastmilk, nappy changes, naps, & abit of rolling around on the floor; something he loves to do sans nappy.

Meanwhile Peter is now in an assisiting leadership roll at church and I am teaching the primary school children at church music. It’s been challanging for both of us but alot of fun. Best of all I (Maddy) have started a writing course, which I am very excited about.

Peter was away at KCC ( Katoomba Christain Convention) with my Dad (John Hingston) this weekend past. Beacause of that plus everything else that we have going at the moment we are now playing ‘catch-ups’ with alot of things around that house. We are very slowly re-organising some things around the house so that things are easier and we don’t end up making work for ourselves.

My week has been very busy with playgroups and seeing some friends. I am hoping to see some Nappycino (we chat on a forum together & all use cloth nappies on our babies) friends tomorrow for a catch up & then on Friday I am off to the Quilt & Craft fair in Newcastle with my Mother (Jedda) & maybe Bella (sister).

Big Weekend

Things were very busy here at the Laloli house on the weekend.

Peter’s Mother arrived for a visit on Friday and we were having a wonderful time catching up until Riven had a terrible Asthma attack. He has never had one before (he’s only 2) and it came as quite a shock.

He had been a unwell since the night before ( but was still running around like crazy, as always) and had a slight cough. By 3pm he had a wheeze that got very serious very quickly & he was having a lot of trouble breathing. So off to the Hospital we went and spent the next 2 hours in the treatment rooms. Poor boy ended up sitting almost naked with tubes up his nose (oxygen) & with a mask over his face (ventolin - nebulizer). he also had to take some medicine which he was very good about.

He was doing much better by 9pm but they wanted him to stay over night. The hospital didn’t want Sam overnight in hospital ( worried he would catch something) so my little sister Bella volunteered to stay with Riven, which he was very excited about. They next day Riven seemed fine but they wouldn’t let him go home until 4pm, so I spent the day ( with Sam under one arm) chasing him up and down the kids ward of Maitland Hospital. It was very funny at the time as he didn’t seem sick at all but made me very tired.

Meanwhile Peter’s sister Bonnie arrived to visit George & my mother in law (God bless her!) kept the house in order for me and got dinner started.

Then because i didn’t get any of my normal Saturday things done ( Peter was at work) I spent Sunday getting all my washing etc done. It was a relieve to sit down with Bella that night at Maitland Evangelical Church (MEC).

So things were  a bit  non stop for me this weekend. Peter is going away nest Saturday so I am really praying that things stay quiet here for a change.

In the meantime I have a batch of banana Oat Muffins to take out of the oven and then I’m of to the Maitland Ward ( of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) Playgroup.

Big Plans

Well I was up bright and early this Saturday morning. My Dad will be wisked me off to the shops while my darling hubby looked after our three boys. I got most of my shopping for the week done, phew!

I decided to start using a meal plan this week and it made shopping quicker. Not sure if it’s saved me and money though. My main reason for the meal plan is to imnprove the families eating habits & so I can lose weight this year. Put on 15kg too many while I was pregnant with Sam.

Meanwhile I’m starting a writing course later in Febuary which I’m very excited about. I really want to get into the habit of writing on a daily basis, which is why I going to bge updating this page at least once a week. I’ve also started a creative writing blog called Periwinkle Nightsong, the name is came from a random poem generator. And of course I’ve got the blog for the boys as well with all there fun activities.

So I’d be very happy for anyone visiting here to remind me to post :-)
